From humble beginnings in 1934, Montana Wines owes much to the passion and toil of their first winemakers. This easy going and approachable wine is delivering classic aromas characteristic of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Lively gooseberry and ripe capsicum, layered with tropical passionfruit and grapefruit undertones.

Crafted from pristine grapes that were hand harvested from a single Pisa vineyard Site. Naturally fermented and pressed to allow an extended period of maturation in French Oak. The Mount Michael Pinot Noir is beautifully fragrant showing aromas of dark cherries and plums, violets and raspberries and a hint of clove and vanilla. Rich and concentrated on the palate with flavours that mirror the nose. Enhanced by a mineral core of acidity and chalky dusty tannins. A delicious savoury finish with toasty oak providing an elegant structure and length. Drinking beautifully now, but you will be rewarded with further cellaring.

The Mountaineer Pinot Noir pays homage to the pioneering spirit and sense of adventure displayed by mountain climbers confronting the forces of nature and celebrating the beauty and grandeur of the New Zealand Southern Alps. The preparation, passion and commitment are necessary to grow and make Pinot Noir in Central Otago mirror the challenges faced by these pioneering mountaineers. Ripe dark plums, cherries, violets and spice lead into a wine brimming with ample concentrated fruit flavours of red cherries and raspberries on the palate complimented by soft spices and toasty oak influence. Long to finish with bright acidity and soft ripe tannins.

As the vineyards are ageing Mt Difficulty are starting to see additional complexity emerging each vintage. Inviting and opulent, the palate is flush with sweet cherry & blueberry, followed by trademark earth & savoury notes and framed by baking spice and fine grained French Oak. The fruit floods through to the finish with a juicy balance, indicating acidity that will keep the wine aging well.

This Pinot Rosé displays a lovely red rose petal, whilst the aroma talks of ripe raspberry and strawberry notes. On the palate the wine leads with dry textural red cherry, developing into a richly textured mid-palate; brambly raspberry notes drive the finish of the wine.

The grapes for Roaring Meg come from Mt Difficulty's Cromwell basin vineyards managed by their dedicated viticultural team. Roaring Meg Chardonnay features citrus floral notes, toasted brioche and a hint of cashew on the nose. Initially some classically rich Chardonnay fruit character on the palate, white stone fruit and toast notes which then picks up on the fresh and crisp finish. The wine finishes with refreshing grapefruit and lemon zest.

Roaring Meg Pinot Gris features lifted and aromatic notes of jasmine, green pear & grapefruit on the nose. A vibrant palate of red apple, lime, yellow plum and lychee with balanced freshness from the acidity and residual sweetness for a buoyant and juicy finish.

The addition of fruit from their Bendigo vineyard has lends a powerful, darker edge. Roaring Meg Pinot Noir features red, blue and black berry fruit aromatics. The palate is harmonious with rich dark berries and a savoury line underneath. A hint of spice and dried thyme complement the succulent fruit. Fine silky tannins frame the wine with a great flow and finish.
