Highland Park have a tradition of defying convention and that's how they came to create this distinct and bold single malt whisky and its equally distinct and bold packaging. Using first-fill Rioja casks in combination with refill casks was a first for Highland Park and the result is a rich and contemporary single malt whisky with very distinctive character. You'll find generous layers of sweet vanilla, sun-ripened peaches, summer berries and full-bodied red wine, combined on gust of heather-rich peat smoke.

Valfather is Highland Park's most peated whisky to date and matured entirely in their finest refill casks to ensure that all that peat is balanced with subtle layers of flavour and character. You'll taste the syrupy sweet apple, fragrant pear, crème brûlée, toasted cedarwood, and smoked paprika. If we had to make up a word for such a flavour, it'd be Stickysmoke.

Created using a higher proportion of local peated malt and matured in a combination of sherry seasoned European and American oak casks and ex-bourbon casks. Valknut walks a fine line between the aromatic spiciness of cloves and cracked black pepper, and the patisserie sweetness of toasted vanilla and creme brûlée, hence the term, Custard Bonfire.

Valkyrie celebrates Highland Park's rich Nordic ancestry in Orkney, once part of a vast Viking kingdom. According to Norse mythology, Valkyries would descend onto the battlefields to find the best and bravest warriors and give them passage to Valhalla. The combination of sherry seasoned European and American oak casks with ex-bourbon casks gives Valkyrie the aroma of crisp green apples in a spice market and an aroma of faraway campfires. They call it 'Liquorice Lantern Smoke'.

Lagavulin has long been the home of legends. Its rocky bay was crowned with a castle by Lords of the Isles who ruled long ago. The distillery rose in succession; deeply respected, a king born to power. Made in the birthplace of distilling, this iconic Islay malt is intense and smoky, steeped in history and lore for over two hundred years. In this deep expression from virgin oak and our smokiest reserves, peaty casks lead spice and smoke on their eternal dance with deep sweetness. The smooth, oily start shines with sweet richness, before lemony citrus and sea salt add freshness and an explosion of spice to savour. Mid-palate, the taste becomes more drying, its smoky intensity ever-growing. Great waves of peat wreathe the long, smoky-spicy finish. New-fired, Lagavulin soars to fresh heights of spiced smoke.

The whisky has a powerful, peat-smoke aroma, and is described as being robustly full-bodied, well balanced, and smooth, with a slight sweetness on the palate. International Spirit ratings competitions have generally given Lagavulin's 16-year spirit extremely high scores.
