Light in colour, luscious pear with hints of honeysuckle. The vibrant palate is refreshing with a textured round finish.

Opaque purple-black at the centre with a very thin, purple edge. A classic Fonseca nose redolent of heady, woodland fruit, powerful but also very fine and complex. The dense blackberry and blackcurrant aromas form the backdrop for a display of fresh, minty, balsamic scents and resiny notes of gum cistus and wild herbs. Discreet hints of exotic wood, liquorice and black pepper provide an additional dimension of complexity.

In 2002, Terra Prima Organic Reserve became a reality using grapes grown in the Douro Valley from an entire vineyard which is farmed organically and actively managed by Guimaraens and his team. The last stage in the development was to locate a specialist distiller with the ability to produce top quality organic fortifying spirit which would be approved by the Port Wine Institute. This was achieved and certification awarded by Ecocert, Portugal. A wonderfully rich and concentrated port wine, with fantastic flavour and texture. It's sturdy and characterful in a rich ruby reserve style, with flavours of blueberry, cherry and plum.
