The free-draining alluvial soils of Gimblett Gravels yield intensely concentrated fruit with firm tannin structure, while the iron-rich red metals of Redstone Vineyard contribute supple texture and aromatic lift. The result is a balanced, complex wine led by dark berry and plum flavours, layered with notes of lavender, rosewood, cedar, and hints of cacao and vanilla. Church Road Grand Reserve wines are produced only in exceptional vintages. The very best low-cropping vineyard blocks are targeted for selective hand-harvesting to yield wines with the greatest possible flavour, depth and concentration. The Grand Reserve Pinot Noir is wild fermented with a proportion of whole bunches. Dark cherry and sweet berry fruit is lifted by alluring floral and spice notes, complimented by underlying earthy complexity and subtle French oak.
