The concentration is remarkable for this price bracket, and the combination of indigenous varieties with a seasoning of Bordeaux favourites brings the wine a complexity which almost comes as a surprise after its aromatic sweetness. It's a wine from evidently propitious vineyards - about which we will surely hear more in future.

For this premium Petit Verdot we hand selected fruit from four different vineyards, soil types, locations and clones. The minuscule yields of concentrated fruit offered from these vines in 2015 provided us the quality and power to release our second Icon Petit Verdot under our Ironstone series. We barrel fermented 40% of the juice in new French oak barriques, with 25% matured in 2 and 3 year old French barriques, plus older oak for the other 35%, maturation was 28 months. This powerful intense wine displays a bouquet of blackberry, violets, Spanish olive, Dutch liquorice and spicy cedary oak, with hints of lavender and musk. The palate delivers blueberry, star of anise, Kalamata olive, black cherry and bramble, all enveloped by firm-controlled tannins and savoury oak. This big, brooding Petit Verdot will require serious aerating to consume with food in its youth or will reward long term cellaring under the right conditions.

For our inaugural Primitivo, we were looking for a fruit driven, medium bodied style with differing elements to its perceived varietal character. The wine displays aromas of cranberry, pomegranate, wild strawberry and spicy red currant, with hints of musk. On the palate the wine delivers rich red cherry, toffee apple, spicy plum and Szechuan peppercorns, all complemented by subtle vanillin/cedary oak and a sprinkling of quince paste. Drink now or until 2026 under right cellaring conditions.

Bright intense red with purple hues. Blueberries, also classic Malbec mulberry, red cherries and notes of cedar; cocoa and wafts of violets. At first this Malbec is Intense, juicy and super youthful 'grapeiness' again lots of blueberries. Almost overwhelming. The Middle Palate is generous and quite sensual it is structured despite the lashings of fresh fruit Really rich and lush. The after palate is flavoursome, rich sweet berry fruits and Damson plum is on top of rolling red fruits and Blueberry pie! The finish is lush and mouth filling with a glycerol sweetness balanced by gentle tannins and a soft fresh acidity. Along with barbecues, Malbec's team a treat with bold summery dishes. As they're by no means shrinking violets in the flavour department, a chilled bottle will go beautifully with beef fajitas or big-flavoured salads.

Full bodied dense ripe berry fruit flavours balanced with vanillin oak but yet long and smooth. Serve with a red wine casserole or a juicy steak with red onion jam. Sometimes, the most wonderful creations emerge from random, happy hybrids. Take the cross-pollution of Peloursin and Syrah vines which French botanist Francois Durif discovered. He produced a delicious new grape variety, worthy of his own name: Durif, also known as Petite Sirah. And here begins your journey of discovery: taste the full-bodied, generous and lively flavours, like blackcurrant and plums balanced with spicy toasted integrated oak.

Hand harvested from 40 year-old Grenache vines in southern Spain and made in a modern, vibrantly fruity, opulent style this is a classic expression of immediately attractive, juicy, dark Grenache.

Smoking Loon The Original Old Vine Zinfandel is a striking deep, inky purple colour in the glass. Aromas of ripe raspberry, black cherry, peppercorn and toasted coconut lift from the glass. This rich, medium-bodied wine is full of flavour with loads of fresh red fruits; raspberry, pomegranate and a healthy dose of that classic Zinfandel spice. This is a bold wine with good structure and lively acidity making it a perfect match for any type of BBQ.
